INTRODUCTION

The use of digital video and stills when assessing the condition and movement of horses has grown in recent years. However equine professionals and enthusiasts are still limited by what they can do with this digital media.

SPECIALLY DESIGNED
- for the equine industry with functions as requested by equine clinicians including hoof balance, T-square tool, hoof profile tool, 4 point angle, multi-joint angle, xray overlay. Examine conformation, hoof profiles, and alignment, using the equine specific tools.

- Arrange all your existing videos and digital pictures into a workable and logical system. Collate all media files (videos, digital still images, x rays, thermographs) that are relevant to a particular exam/treatment/procedure. You can also adjust the brightness, contrast and colour of your loaded images.

- You can print client/educator ready reports containing your comments and observations. Enable precise transmission of information/findings worldwide via the Internet for clients, research, or discussions. Provide realistic straight forward prescriptions to other equine professionals such as veterinarians, farriers and trainers.You can also record your voice comments.

PRACTICAL TOOLS
- Monitor changes/progress/treatments by documenting and comparing pre and post examinations. View movements more effectively by using the ZOOM feature and/or the SPEED bar to slow the video down. ONTRACKEQUINE has been developed with veterinarians, farriers, trainers, owners and riders in mind. It is not designed to be a complex tool but more so a working tool for the veterinary/farriery practice and equine school/college. It can of course be very effective in research especially concerning conformation. Equine industries in the USA, UK and Ireland have all collaborated to produce this equine specific analysis and reporting software to benefit the horse industry.

The ONTRACKZONE

The ONTRACK Zone is a membership only website and expands the export and import capabilities of the ONTRACKEQUINE software. Previously only export to local computer (and then usually to CD) was possible. Now one can export complete ONTRACK projects to the Internet. These projects can then be downloaded and viewed by other members of the website who have been granted access.

In principle the ZONE website works like this. You export a report about a horse together with videos/pictures etc from your version of ONTRACK to the website. You then grant access to other people registered on the site so that they can access this report. In practice, you can upload a report and then grant access to your vet, who would also be a member. It can work in reverse as well i.e. the vet sends you a report to review.

The website is subscription based but there is a free membership option which allows downloads only. If you are a equine clinician with several clients, then you may wish to offer the facility of them receiving your reports via the ZONE website. If so, they can register for free, and then download and install the ONTRACK SHARE program, which will allow them to view your reports in full, including all the videos/pictures/measurements.
